| Galileo Search and Rescue Test Beacon (SAR-TB) |

| Under sub-contract of Septentrio,
Ursa Minor was responsible for the design of the Search and
Rescue SAR Test Beacon (SAR-TB) of the Galileo Test User
Segment European project. The SAR Test Beacon integrates position
determination, reception of messages through the Galileo navigation
signal and the transmission of distress signals. Hence, the SAR Test
Beacon is an advanced two-way user terminal, demonstrating the
capability of the Galileo payloads. |

For this contract we were responsible for the design and
manufacture of this test beacon to be used for verification of the
Galileo SAR payload with the following features: -
- Return Link Message support
- Emulation of 50 individual SAR beacons per session
- Simultaneous transmission of 5 signals
- Transmission of interference signals
